Hunter's Cauldron

On Saturday, October 5th, as part of the 27th edition of the fair, a competition for hunting associations in preparing Hunter's Cauldron will be held, with guaranteed prizes worth at least €1,000.

Gather a team of at least 3 and up to 5 members and show us your culinary skills!

COMPETITION RULES FOR PREPARING
HUNTER'S STEW – 5.10. 2024.

  • 1.

    The competition for preparing hunter's stew is organized as part of the 27th international fair "Nature, Hunting, Fishing, Tourism".

  • 2.

    The competition is for teams, and members of hunting associations have the right to participate. Each association can register a maximum of two teams. A team consists of a minimum of three and a maximum of five members. The name and contact information of the team captain must be provided in the competition application.

  • 3.

    The competition will be held in Varaždin at the fairgrounds on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Competitors must report to the organizer at the competition info point (outdoor area) by 09:30 AM.

  • 4.

    Competitors prepare hunter's stew from game meat of their choice. All necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment (including cauldron, burner, and gas cylinder) are provided by the competitors. Pre-preparation of the dish is not allowed. The dish is prepared in a cauldron (minimum capacity of 5 liters) over an open flame.

  • 5.

    Competitors must be at the cooking site by 10:00 AM. After checking the ingredients and prepared items by the judging panel, competitors can start cooking. The dish must be finished by 2:00 PM when approximately 1 liter of samples will be taken for the judging panel.

  • 6.

    The judging panel is appointed by the fair organizer. Each member of the judging panel evaluates the prepared dish with points ranging from 1-10 for criteria: Appearance, Consistency, and points from 1-20 for the criterion Taste. The maximum number of points a team can earn is 50.

  • 7.

    According to the total number of points earned, the following cash prizes will be awarded: €600 for first place, €300 for second place, and €100 for third place.
    If two or more dishes in the top three have the same number of points, the judging panel will conduct additional evaluations to determine the ranking. The decision of the judging panel is final.
    The organizer will also award a special prize for the team with the best overall impression (workplace equipment, team atmosphere, number of supporters, etc.).

  • 8.

    The competition results will be announced at 3:30 PM.
